How It Started
It all started with a shared love of gin and parties. Louie and Lindsey met through work and quickly realised they had heaps in common. Several nights out brainstorming 🧠, a fair few negronis 🥃 and one trip to NYC later 🗽 and Island Glitter was created ✨.
Why We Started
While biodegradable glitter companies already exist, Lindsey and Louie felt there was still a huge gap in the market for a brand who promoted self confidence whilst being passionate about the environment.
Selling biodegradable glitter in plastic pots kinda defeats the object, right 🤷🏻♀️?
Both girls have years (yikes!) of experience working for digital retail companies so decided to take the plunge and start a business they knew their customers would be proud to support.
Seeing no reason to offer 100% plastic glitter when alternatives are available, they’re now on a mission to shake up the beauty industry, helping spread glitter and good wherever they go.
Creative Director: Louie Tilley
With a degree in product design, who else would be perfect for sourcing our fully recyclable packaging?
Louie is as passionate about packaging as she is about reducing single-use plastic in her day-to-day and educating others to do the same. Teeny changes can make a big impact 👊🏻.
When she’s not sipping on negronis or coffee, Louie can be found hand lettering for weddings and events for clients such as Selfridges and Malin+Goetz…Island Glitter may even crop up at some!

Director: Lindsey Wilkojc
Lindsey is passionate about fitness, fashion and travel. She’s also mildly obsessed with her dog.
With a degree in mathematics, she began her career in retail finance before discovering her enthusiasm for building digital products customers love. She’s proudly Scottish but has spent many years in London where she now works as a Senior Product Manager.
Lindsey loves any excuse to sparkle and is on a mission to promote eco-friendly alternatives to harmful plastic glitter. She's always on the look out for a new adventure and is looking forward to sharing the Island Glitter brand on her travels this year.

Island Glitter is a London based brand that launched in 2018. It takes inspiration from the dazzling lights of NYC along with the chilled out beaches of Ibiza; two places they know well.
